If you go to a cheaper place, let's assume the cut costs about 15 dollars I'd tip about 5 dollars. The cut is already pretty low-cost, and it'll help you get a hook up the next time you go. Not to mention the good hair karma :D

Why tip . . my hairdresser makes much more than minimum wage . .they make close to 20 an hour, which is more than most people in the service sector.

On the other hand, if they do a good job, and go the extra mile, sometimes I'll leave a dollar.
