Does cutting your hair really make it grow?

Actually, it doesn't make it grow faster but since you are cutting or keeping the dead ends trimmed off, it is not breaking off at the ends as fast as it is growing.

Yeah it gets rid of split ends which cause your hair to grow at a slower rate.

No, your hair doesn't know it's cut. All hair grows at a certain length, but a regularly trim with help with split ends or dried hair.

I believe cutting your hair makes it grow cos think about it when you are trying to grow your hair do you notice it starts to get thinner in the ends and splits can occur so if you keep trimming it regular it will keep it thick at the ends and a lot stronger.... I think ha ha good luck im growing mine too x

no no no no no hair growth occurs at the root(in the skin not above it) so cutting it doesn't affect the growth it just seems like it grows faster because you hair is shorter after cutting it, but cutting your hair does get rid of split ends though

Does cutting your hair really make it grow?

Nope, but it gets rid of split ends, which makes your hair look longer and healthier. If you really want it to grow faster, give yourself a good scalp massage every time you shower. It promotes circulation, making your hair grow healthier, faster, and makes it alot shinier! Also, you can rinse your hair with water in which thyme and rosemary has been boiled. (make sure it's cool enough!)

Yes! I asked my stylist a while back the same thing. She told me that if you get 1/4 to 1/2 an inch cut every 4 to 6 weeks your hair will grow faster. It keeps split-ends to a minimum, allowing the hair to grow and not brake off.
